The Cambridge-Arlington 7/8 grade boys Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse Division 2 Select Lacrosse used a second-half surge to secure the division championship on Friday.

Trailing North Andover 4-2 at the half, the Arlington-Cambridge Demolition Crew, or AC/DC, as the team is known, had a tremendous second half, scoring eight straight goals while allowing none, to win the game 10-4.

It was the second straight game in which the second-seeded AC/DC came from behind to win. In the semifinal against Lexington it had trailed by five goals at one point before winning in overtime. In its semifinal, North Andover had defeated the top seed, Shrewsbury-Marlborough-Hudson.

But it could not overcome AC/DCs defense, anchored by its goalie, Cambridge resident Eli Bachelor. The AC/DC had the overall best defense in the league, giving up the fewest goals.

Offensively, the team was led by Cambridge’s Logan Tambiah, who scored three goals. Cambridge resident Ryder Kavet scored two, as did Arlington’s Sam Shoss. J.J. Yan, Bodi Wright and John Greable, Arlington residents all, each scored a goal.
